This discussion is locked. Thanks Nano et al for your input. Windows 7 and Linux have drivers that will at least get sound out of the sound card. I made sure to disable my SATA drives as boot sources. Before doing any steps, the very first question is which Service Pack are you using?

Regardless of whether or not Intel supports these boards, you can run Win7 32 bit on them, inteo you have enough RAM and a good fast video card. No bad sectors, no bearing noise, no lost files. Sign in to vote. My onboard audio went out long ago and was replaced with a Sound Blaster pci card. I get excellent boot time of 32sec and until recently have had absolutely “NO” hardware issues or software issues.

That said there is not a driver for Windows 7 for it, about the best you can hope for is to try the last XP driver for it look up your board at Intel and get it thereand use compatibility mode, Compatibility Mode to install it. Hope this helps somebody out there. I am anxious to try it when I get back home tonight.
Did you try the sound on another system to see if it works fine? With XP, you don’t notice it so much. Over on the ABXZone. Over the past few months it worsened. BIOS sees 4gig ram, sec IDE drives, diskette soubd, and can get to boot priority menu in fact, can see all normal menus. And nothing changes, no sound.

I am pretty sure is has to do with the chipset drivers. By itself with no load whatsoever like in the bubble package sonud, the lithium battery will still be “good” after ten years. The third-party product discussed here is manufactured by a company that is independent of Microsoft. Wednesday, June 8, XP will now install the audio driver from the INF file.
